Abstract:

Professional views taken in Costa Rica in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Subjects include various views of San José, the volcanoes Turrialba and Poás, the Northern Railway, and the Teatro Nacional. Also includes views of the Río Grande, agriculture and agricultural laborers, natural scenery, unidentified indigenous peoples, and ruins of a church in Ujarras.
